Wood-based Materials

Specially formulated waxes are used in wood-based materials such as chips, strands, fibers, and similar materials.
- Hydrophobization through chemical and physical processes.
- Improvement of mechanical properties regarding swelling, adhesion, and transverse tensile strength.
The polar groups in the waxes create a strong affinity to the wood structure. On the other hand, the hydrocarbon base structures have a water-repelling effect.
